Every Girl Will Love the Snow White Princess Costume

It is that time of year again, parents. It is time for you to figure out how to dress up your child for Halloween!

Remember back when we were kids and our parents would just slap on some old clothes and call us a “hobo”? Well, those days are over and you can’t get away with that kind of thing anymore. Every young girl wants to be dressed to the nines, and wants to look as good as her classmates. One of the most popular and everlasting of all girl costumes is the Snow White Princess costume.

If you didn’t know, Disney has eight official Princesses and one of them is Snow White. You may not be able to describe a Snow Princess costume if you had to, but if you saw it, you certainly would recognize it. The large, yellow skirt is the first clue that you are looking at Snow White. The red, white, and blue bodice with short, puffy sleeves is the other clue. And, then there is the black wig. A true Snow White also has a tiara (or at least a head-band) and some sort of wand.

This version of Snow White was first brought to us in the 1937 animated film, “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” and has stuck with us ever since. Of course, she is based on an old Brothers Grimm tale, but the girl with the black hair and the yellow skirt is the one that all girls want to be.

If your young daughter wants to dress up in a Disney Snow White Princess costume and you are thinking about making one from scratch, don’t do it! They are difficult to make and can take up more time than you could ever imagine.
